Abstract

This study explores postsecondary outcomes for students who participated in a year-long dual enrollment program and subsequently matriculated to the host university. Tracking students from high school through college, the study examines rates of matriculation, retention, persistence, and graduation, particularly among historically underrepresented groups. Of the students who completed the program, 56% matriculated to the host institution, and half declared a major in education, highlighting the program’s role in supporting recruitment into the teaching profession. Dual enrollment GPA and high school GPA were significantly associated with postsecondary success. Findings suggest that dual enrollment can serve as both an access initiative and a strategic enrollment pipeline.
