Continuous Improvement Coaches as Sensemakers and Sensegivers

Abstract

This qualitative exploratory case study centers on a university partnership with an educational intermediary agency, the Southeast Educational Collaborative (SEEC), that has taken up the criticality of coaching as an approach to systems improvement, specifically through coaching improvement science (IS). In this study, we focus on the specific practices of two CI coaches (new to their roles as coaches) and the ways in which they make sense of CI and improvement science in their coaching practices with educators.
