Abstract

As immersive simulations and AI-based planning tools become more common in teacher education, questions remain about how pre-service teachers internalize lessons and how these supports impact their self-efficacy. This study explores how undergraduate pre-service teachers prepared to teach digital citizenship lessons using an internalization worksheet and how they viewed the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in their lesson internalization process. The students then practiced the lesson in a mixed-reality simulation (Mursion). Self-efficacy scores were tracked pre- and post-activity. Implications for the use of AI-enabled planning and teaching practice tools are offered.
