Abstract

The META-Training project is an AI Literacy professional development and research endeavor focused on enhancing the quality of teaching practices of teacher educators who work across primary and secondary schools in Germany. During the 2024-2025 school year, the first cohort of 29 educators participated. We were interested in ways their thinking of both AI and professional learning evolved over time and what they implemented. We used Journey Mapping and surveys to learn about their perspectives. The teacher educators most valued the opportunity to collaborate and reflect. They often work in isolation and do not have the opportunity to share ideas. Many planned to continue working with their peer groups or other colleagues forming Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) for teacher educators.
