Abstract

This study focuses on a liberal arts education model integrating Eastern and Western traditions. Combining the Confucian "Six Arts" with Western heritage, it aims to cultivate well-rounded individuals characterized by "extensive learning, refined character, genuine knowledge, and committed practice." Based on six rounds of learning outcome assessments conducted from 2015 to 2021, the study evaluates course effectiveness through surveys and a three-tier closed-loop indicator system, The study identifies several limitations in current assessment, including oversimplified indicator design, neglect of baseline competencies, and a "ceiling effect." Then study proposes an improvement plan for 2024–2025, incorporating causal inference models, Bayesian growth models, network analysis, and explainable artificial intelligence (XAI) to strengthen both the evaluation and implementation of liberal arts education.
