Abstract

In this study a comparison of National Statements of Commitment from Caribbean countries will be compared for horizontal alignment to highlight the relationship between these countries’ perspectives on transforming education. The countries (Dominican Republic, Grenada, Jamaica, Saint Lucia and Saint Vincent & the Grenadines) were disaggregated based on large or small population size with a threshold population size of 500,000 people. Ten variables were selected for comparison, including: Covid, equity, engagement, financial, global, learning, policy, statistics, technology, and training. This study applies Quantitative Ethnography (QE) to analyze discourse from the United Nations (UN) Transforming Education Summit. The implications call for urgent action from policymakers and educational stakeholders to address systemic barriers hindering educational transformation.
