Abstract

This paper critically examines the enduring legacies of colonialism and the continued impact of Western neocolonial and neoliberal policies on Haiti and other developing countries. Shifting away from longstanding Eurocentric analytical frameworks, this paper adopts alternative ideological and methodological lenses to expose and examine the deep-seated educational, economic, political, and cultural wounds Haitians have inherited from colonialism. Finally, it proposes alternative modes of resistance for systemic change.
