Sowing Seeds: Advancing a Critical Multi-Theoretical Approach Towards Anti-Black Organizational Change in Higher Education

Abstract

The purpose of this scholarly paper is to advance a critical multi-theoretical approach for interrogating, examining, and addressing institutional responses and co-option of Black student demands. Critical to my argument and purpose of this paper is to acknowledge how the demands of Black students challenge institutional cultures, processes, and structures, while also amplifying the historic labor and freedom dreaming of the most marginalized. I present a set of propositions that emerge from this scholarly work, but show promise for this framework.
