Abstract

As a pre-kindergarten with over fifty years of intentional, full inclusion of students with a wide range of disabilities, Meadowbrook Preschool is a critical site of the history of inclusive education and a space where “the living tradition of inclusive practice” (Danforth, 2014, p. 97) is continually demonstrated, refined, and passed on. Amidst escalating attacks on research, education, and equity, our project works to unpack the framework behind their sustainable inclusive practices. Through examining perspectives of parents and experienced educators, we investigate the key components and benefits of their educational framework. As we imagine a more equitable future for all children, we explore how lessons shared from various Meadowbrook stakeholders support more inclusive options at the preschool level and beyond.
