As the intersections of differences among students (such as race, class, gender, and sexuality) become increasingly prominent in today’s schools, it is essential for school leaders to know how to serve all students equitably and effectively (Capper, 1998; Marshall & Oliva, 2006; McKenzie et al., 2008; Pounder, Reitzug, & Young, 2002; Young & Liable, 2000). With the growing Latino population, leadership preparation must incorporate community and cultural perspectives to develop social justice leaders. The purpose of this paper is to share the lived experiences of students in a leadership preparation that prepares them as transformational leaders committed to working effectively in diverse, ambiguous, and challenging contexts.
