This study examines how extreme weather and wildfires affect California families with young children during critical developmental years. Grounded in ecological systems theory, we analyze RAPID-CA survey data from over 1,700 families to understand climate impacts across interconnected family, childcare, and community systems. Using descriptive analysis and text analysis of open-ended responses, we capture both quantitative patterns and qualitative experiences of climate disruptions. The research providing evidence to inform resource allocation, disaster preparedness, and support services. By centering parent voices and documenting impacts on child development, this work advances understanding of how environmental crises affect early childhood contexts. Findings can guide educators, policymakers, and community organizations in building resilient systems that protect young children's developmental trajectories amid accelerating climate change.
