With the growing presence of international students in U.S. higher education, there is a growing need to understand their challenges and promote their mental health. This research is to examine how East Asian international students experientially engage with therapeutic art-making sessions in a snapshot of their time in the U.S. This is to partially understand their emotional and social learning process as a portion of their bigger wellness maintenance picture. This study will focus on a critical analysis of how three East Asian international students express and manage their emotional and social stresses via artmaking. This study will ultimately help educators and scholars better understand international students, or others in need, and apply new approaches to their teaching and practices.
