Abstract

Continuous improvement requires data, as does data-informed or data-driven decision making. Continuous improvement that focuses on equity requires disaggregated data. While surveys have been developed to understand faculty data use, little empirical work within education has focused on the three components of faculty, data, and equity together. In this paper I describe a portion of a survey instrument that focuses on faculty beliefs and their perceptions of college culture around data in support of continuous improvement to address racial equity in their classes. I present findings from deployment of the survey to active faculty at a large, midwestern community college and conclude with recommendations for future work and contributions to the field.
