This paper is a systematic review on Assessment in Higher Education. A total of 265 studies were analyzed and synthesized, with tables created to highlight the most popular assessment methods and feedback sources used in higher education.
Furthermore, the paper reveals that despite numerous innovative and creative assessment approaches, traditional methods such as exams and quizzes remain prominent in higher education. Additionally, some countries are actively integrating technology into assessment practices to keep pace with evolving trends.
Regarding feedback, teacher feedback emerged as the most popular method. However, the paper also notes a growing trend of utilizing Artificial Intelligence (AI) for student feedback, alongside other technological applications in assessment. Finally, the paper presents limitations and recommendations for future research.
