Abstract

This study explores the perceptions of first-generation immigrant women in Southeastern Idaho regarding pursuing an advanced degree in the United States. Many first-generation immigrant women who arrive in Idaho tend to stay at home and care for their children, or if their children are in school, they often do not return to school to pursue an advanced degree. Through this research, we try to understand the perceptions of immigrant women about advanced degrees in the United States. We also hope that, with these findings, we can support many first-generation immigrant women who have an interest in getting an advanced degree throughout Southeastern Idaho.
