This research addresses the dominance of white women in education and how the intersectional difference in both gender and race may place Black boys at risk of being othered and oppressed. This intersectionality of oppressed identities in education might explain why Black boys are disproportionately misdiagnosed as needing special education support or face harsher criticism from white women teachers (Hart & Lindsay, 2024; Irvine, 1985).
