Wed, April 8, 3:45 to 5:15pm PDT (3:45 to 5:15pm PDT), Los Angeles Convention Center, Floor: Level Two, Room 411 (Theatre)

Abstract

This paper examines the role of art as a transformative practice for healing and resilience in educational and community contexts. Through an interdisciplinary lens bridging psychology, education, and the arts, the study highlights how creative expression fosters emotional regulation, self-awareness, and collective meaning-making. Drawing on case studies and emerging research, the paper explores the therapeutic potential of visual arts, music, and performance as tools to address trauma, promote social connection, and enhance learning outcomes. Findings suggest that art-based interventions can serve as accessible, culturally responsive approaches to well-being, particularly for marginalized populations. Implications underscore the importance of integrating arts into educational spaces as both a healing modality and a catalyst for inclusive, holistic learning environments.
