Abstract

Increasing career readiness is a topic of interest within Psychology. The American Psychological Association’s Guidelines for the Undergraduate Psychology Major 3.0 highlights the need for Psychology programs and instructors to better instill career readiness in students (APA 3.0, 2023). Our previous study examined the effect of a career readiness intervention in enrollment general education classroom: Introduction to Psychology. Throughout the span of 10 weeks, students watched workshops developed by the UC Riverside career center that focused on developing NACE career competencies (2021). Findings showed significant differences in career development and leadership competencies between pre- and post-surveys. Future studies will aim to examine how integrating career-ready skills into course content may enhance student learning by encouraging a deeper level of processing.
