Abstract

This video will highlights Division H’s longstanding commitment to cultivating future generations of educational researchers through meaningful graduate student engagement. Drawing on Division H’s history and evolution, the speaker reflects on key initiatives that expanded graduate student participation in conference sessions, leadership roles, mentoring networks, and research dissemination. The discussion traces how these efforts transformed Division H from a professional hub for district researchers into a vibrant, multi-level community where emerging scholars collaborate with experienced practitioners. Emphasis is placed on mentorship models, cross-institutional research partnerships, and the inclusion of student voices in governance and award programs. Attendees will gain insight into how Division H’s inclusive culture continues to shape the field and strengthen AERA’s collective research capacity.
