Abstract

This presentation reflects on Division H’s pioneering role within AERA’s governance and innovation landscape, beginning with its representation on the first AERA Council Executive Committee. The speaker will explore how Division H helped shape early policies linking research, evaluation, and school improvement, establishing a model for applied scholarship within the Association. Building on this legacy, the session also highlights the Division’s leadership in advancing technology use—ranging from early adoption of data management and reporting systems to contemporary applications of analytics, dashboards, and digital dissemination. By tracing this history, the presentation underscores how Division H has consistently bridged methodological rigor and practical innovation, positioning itself as a leader in leveraging technology to enhance educational research, evaluation, and policy impact.
