Abstract

This award celebrates individuals who have shown great potential and have already made impactful contributions to research on learning and instruction.

Talk abstract: Motivation is not a fixed trait, it fluctuates in response to instructional practices, social contexts, and students’ evolving beliefs. This talk presents findings from studies using intensive longitudinal methods to capture these moment-to-moment changes in STEM classrooms. By identifying motivational inflection points and designing real-time interventions, this work offers new insights into promoting persistence, equity, and success in STEM education.
