Wed, April 8, 11:45am to 1:15pm PDT (11:45am to 1:15pm PDT), Los Angeles Convention Center, Floor: Level Two, Room 515B

Abstract

Recent calls in the learning sciences have sought to understand the transformational potential of students to directly shape community learning through community engaged design research (Gutierrez & Jurow, 2016; Gutierrez et al., 2019). Additionally, it is well known that marginalized youth are often erased from outdoor recreation practices such as hiking or creek stomping due to political dimensions of power, cultural erasure, and settler-colonialism (Bryne, 2012; Finney, 2014).
