This research study focuses on the initial development of the GenAI-identity instrument, used to assess AI (Artificial Intelligence) identity among educators. The instrument is administered as part of a workshop focused on supporting the genAI development of educators. The workshop is interactive and offers participants opportunities to discuss their comfort level with genAI. While originally designed for pre-service teachers, the instrument and workshop has been adapted and administered to a broad range of educators. Workshops were conducted to collect data and encourage reflection on the use of AI in education. This study will present the initial findings on the quality of the instrument and the overall engagement of participants.
