Early intervention (EI) programs face growing workforce shortages and high turnover, particularly in rural areas. To address these challenges, the Leadership and Advocacy in Early Intervention series used the ECHO-DU virtual professional learning model to build leadership capacity, enhance job satisfaction, and reduce burnout among EI professionals across the state of Colorado. ECHO-DU delivered 8-weekly sessions across three cohorts of EI providers, providing training in systems thinking, family engagement, and advocacy. A mixed methods evaluation found significant gains in professional self-efficacy and leadership knowledge. Participants reported increased confidence, stronger peer connections, and improved access to professional resources. The ECHO model demonstrates promise as a scalable, research-based solution to support the retention and professional growth of EI providers.
