This symposium explores how educational research can support the development of ‘ideas-informed’ societies: democratic communities where citizens are equipped to critically engage with ideas and resist misinformation. Using theoretical models and large-scale empirical data, its three papers will examine how education, mindset, and social networks shape engagement with ideas and how this engagement influences belief in misinformation. We consider implications for educational policy and practice and discuss ways to support democratic resilience
