Session Type: Symposium
For this symposium, we gather as Women of Color across the academic spectrum to illuminate the intergenerational, critical literacies we have acquired and embody through our lived experiences within and beyond academic contexts. Despite the hostile political climate aiming to steal our knowing(s), we remain committed to unforgetting critical literacies that have shaped who and how we are in the world. As Women of Color within the professoriate, and navigating doctoral and undergraduate programs, we resist the illusion and allure of safety perpetuated by repressive forces that demand our silence and complicity in erasure. By centering Black Feminist Thought, critical literacies, and testimonios, we invite you into narrations of unforgetting where we center and speak our truths to power.
