Session Type: Structured Poster Session
This session is motivated by the premise that positionality (who is taking what to whom and for what purpose) matters in policy and practice. Different policy actors have distinct roles and responsibilities and are tasked with making different types of decisions. Different policy actors desire and use different forms of evidence, including research evidence. Also, they are embedded within organizations that create organization-specific challenges and avenues to sharing research evidence. Similarly, the positionality of those who are spanning boundaries must be considered because their past histories and reputations precondition their interactions with policy actors. This structured poster session includes presentations from authors contributing to a forthcoming book that seeks advance the research use literature by placing positionality at the center.
