Session Type: Symposium
The world is experiencing unprecedented global human displacement. How do global education systems respond to the pressing challenges of immigration, mobility, and inclusion? Drawing from the edited book, Education, Immigration, and Migration: Revisiting and Re-Imagining Policy, Leadership and Praxis for a Changing World (2nd ed.), this symposium asks, 1) how can paradigms of leadership and policy be reimagined to meet the ethical demands of justice, equity, and inclusion in a global (im)mobile world? and 2) how can schools and school leaders navigate and respond to regimes of marginalization and inequality while simultaneously helping create spaces of adaptation, belonging, and policy innovation? Presenters will share comparative and interdisciplinary perspectives around the intertwining of immigration and education across the globe.
