Session Type: Symposium
This symposium presents findings from the Gates Foundation’s Networks for School Improvement (NSI) initiative—the most ambitious investment in networked continuous improvement (CI) to date. Launched in 2018, NSI supported networks of schools in using CI methods to improve outcomes for Black, Latino, and low-income students. Researchers will share research results on the initiative’s impact on student outcomes, school-level CI implementation, and the role of network hubs in fostering healthy networks. A Gates Foundation leader will provide context on the initiative’s design and evaluation strategy, and a practitioner-leader will reflect on the relevance of the findings for practice. The session includes audience engagement and a moderated discussion on implications for research, philanthropy, and practice in school improvement.
