Session Type: Structured Poster Session
This structured poster session investigates a core dimension of arts-based educational research (ABER): records of researchers’ decision-making from initial questions to completed works. ABER is process and product. The conduct of the inquiry matters as does the finished design. The flows of decision- and meaning-making shaping an investigation may be recorded through written memos, monologues, dialogues, songs, poems, photographs, paintings and/or choreographies but such records are a necessary part of the inquiry. Researchers may disagree about how best to undertake the journey, but transparency and ethical accountability are central to quality in ABER. Our session is organized to generate rich conversations about method; all presenters will share their instruments, human subjects forms, interpretive practices, and the products of their scholar-artistry.
