Session Type: Structured Poster Session
Research–Practice Partnerships (RPPs) are widely regarded as promising strategies for bridging research, practice, and policy. Yet, much of the work that sustains and animates these partnerships remains invisible. This structured poster session explores conceptual, methodological, and practical approaches to making such hidden dynamics visible, such as the improvisational nature of boundary spanning, the negotiation of racialized power, and informal routines that support collaboration and shape decision making. Drawing on empirical studies of RPPs across varied educational contexts, the session highlights how these often-overlooked elements shape a partnership’s ability to adapt, persist, and drive change. Attendees will engage with guiding questions to consider how invisibility can be theorized, empirically examined, and more intentionally addressed within the design and practice of RPPs.
