Session Type: Symposium
This symposium explores the emerging role of generative AI in K-12 language education for multilingual learners. While there is growing research on AI use with adult language learners, empirical studies involving younger, school-aged populations remain limited. Addressing this gap, the symposium presents a set of papers that examine AI applications in language assessment, pedagogy, and learning for multilingual learners in K-12 settings. It aims to foster critical discussion on the responsible and innovative use of AI for K-12 multilingual learners and to identify key areas for future research to ensure appropriate and effective implementation across diverse classroom contexts.
