Session Type: Symposium
This symposium brings together scholars working in varied contexts with a shared commitment to center Chicana-Latina feminist (CLF) theories in mathematics education. The use of CLF theories and methodological approaches challenges dominant narratives and ways of knowing by centering the knowledge and perspectives of Latiné communities. Presenters explore how CLF perspectives, rooted in embodied knowledge, relationality, and healing, offer necessary disruptions in a field historically structured by whiteness and empirical logics. Through a plática, the symposium will use these varied perspectives to discuss the role of CLF in mathematics education and co-imagining futures that continue to sustain these commitments.
