Session Type: Symposium
Jews have been mostly excluded from the equity and inclusion work that has exploded over the last few decades. We are a diverse group of researchers affiliated with a national university-based fellowship for education faculty and DEI administrators focused on antisemitism and Jewish inclusion. We aim to work in solidarity to create a future we imagine and construct differently. As advocates of diversity, equity, and inclusion (“DEI”), we believe that the exclusion of Jews is a shortcoming that harms Jews and non-Jews alike in the collective effort to move our educational systems toward a just democracy. Our objective with this session is to advance this core argument both theoretically and empirically, and provide a vision for a possible DEI 2.0.
