This panel features scholar-educators and curriculum designers from Foundations and Futures: Asian American and Pacific Islander Multimedia Textbook, an open-access resource centering AA&PI histories, resistance, and critical consciousness. Rooted in the 1968 Third World Liberation Front and Black Student Union strikes, the project resists the sanitization of Ethnic Studies and promotes justice-centered curriculum. It uplifts marginalized AA&PI communities—Pacific Islanders, Southeast Asians, students with disabilities, and emerging bilinguals—through identity-affirming, critical pedagogy. Amid backlash against Ethnic Studies, CRT, and DEI, the textbook offers a transformative vision aligned with AERA 2026: using curriculum to “unforget” histories, foster empathy, and imagine equitable futures grounded in memory, resistance, and community-responsive education.
