Session Type: Symposium
Amid heightened public scrutiny of higher education’s workforce outcomes, this symposium brings together interdisciplinary scholars and philanthropic leaders to examine how U.S. higher education can better prepare students for the transition from college to career. Exploring the experiences and outcomes of students who participate in career assessments, co-ops, and other forms of work-based learning, the papers in this session highlight the design, delivery, and differential impact of these experiences. The session challenges the “one-size-fits-all” models of college to career preparation and aims to inspire scalable, equity-minded approaches to strengthen the connection between education and employability.
