Session Type: Symposium
This symposium, based on the forthcoming book Anti-Racism in Early Childhood Education: Challenging Whiteness to Implement Just Practices, presents theoretical, research-based, and practical approaches to anti-racism in early childhood education. Authors will share five chapters covering teacher education, discipline reform, racial identity, and Afrofuturist pedagogy as these topics relate to anti-racism in early childhood. The session includes author dialogue and audience discussion, aiming to move the field beyond diversity and multiculturalism toward explicitly anti-racist practices in pedagogy, policy, and research.
