This panel explores the impact of research projects funded by the National Professional Development (NPD) grant on MLL teacher education. As MLL populations grow, effective teacher preparation and research are crucial. The panel highlights research conducted by NPD grant awardees on new models created and used in MLL teacher education.
Topics include supporting rural educators, implementing culturally responsive professional development in urban settings, and reviewing long-term impacts through MLL community engagement. Panelists highlight their research on specific MLL teacher education models. The included research demonstrates increases in pre-/in-service teacher learning, parental school involvement, and MLL school achievements.
