Abstract

This symposium explores how artificial intelligence (AI) can transform accreditation in educator preparation programs (EPPs). Drawing from the forthcoming book Leveraging Artificial Intelligence to Transform Teacher Education Accreditation, four education leaders present research-informed and field-tested strategies for using AI to enhance self-study reports, compliance tracking, equity-focused decision-making, and continuous improvement. Emphasizing ethical and inclusive practices, this session addresses persistent inefficiencies in accreditation and offers practical tools to modernize systems while maintaining transparency and accountability. Attendees will gain actionable insights into applying AI across accreditation processes in ways that support innovation, equity, and effectiveness. This session is designed for policymakers, faculty, deans, accrediting agencies, and researchers interested in leveraging AI to improve educator preparation and education quality assurance.
