Session Type: Roundtable Session
This session examines how shared governance in California community colleges enables institutional learning through a Research Practice Partnership (RPP) with UCLA. Presenters share findings from qualitative research, cross-campus coordination, and campus-based facilitation to show how student voice, faculty-led inquiry, and distributed leadership foster adaptive, equity-focused change. The session highlights how inquiry into student experiences led to redesign of practices, redefinition of roles, and realignment of governance priorities. Participants will explore what it takes to build a sustainable learning culture in institutions historically resistant to change. This session will interest researchers, practitioners, and policy leaders focused on institutional transformation, shared governance, and equity-centered design.
