Session Type: Working Group Roundtable
This roundtable examines how faculty navigate the integration of generative-AI in doctoral education through the experiences of two researchers working with diverse PhD students. Drawing on their collaborative research and teaching practice, the presenters will explore ethical implications of incorporating AI tools in research writing, challenges in developing responsible AI-use frameworks, and strategies for addressing cultural differences in AI-adoption among international doctoral students. Discussion interrogates how curriculum development for AI literacy can honor disciplinary traditions while preparing scholars for technology-mediated futures. Participants will critically examine how institutional policies and ethics shape faculty approaches to AI integration. We invite dialogue about creating sustainable, equitable frameworks for AI use that respect scholarly integrity while acknowledging the transforming landscape of academic knowledge production.
