Session Type: Workshop
This workshop brings together seven Black scholars representing diverse diasporic perspectives spanning the U.S., Cape Verde, and Brazil. Together, we will explore strategies for imagining and building transformative educational futures for Black scholarship in higher education in a global context. Grounded in a shared commitment to challenging centuries of knowledge erasure and the enduring impact of (neo)colonial ideologies in education, this gathering is part of an ongoing international, community-centered scholarly effort. It seeks to amplify voices that confront and dismantle the structural barriers and imposed impossibilities for the future faced by Black scholars in academic spaces.
