Abstract

The Educational Statisticians SIG business meeting will provide members with updates on current initiatives and future directions of the SIG. Following the business portion, Dr. Craig Enders will delivered a featured presentation.

Title: Factored Structural Equation Modeling in Blimp

Abstract: This talk introduces a factored regression approach to SEM that expresses a multivariate model as a set of simpler submodels, each with its own distribution. For example, this framework views a confirmatory factor analysis as a series of regression equations whose dependent variables may follow different distributions. This representation allows researchers to mix linear and generalized linear models, a broad range of variable types, and interactive and nonlinear effects without violating multivariate distributional assumptions. The talk will demonstrate how to fit models in the user-friendly Blimp software.
