Session Type: Roundtable Session
This session explores the intersections of gender, identity, and pedagogy through critical engagement with diasporic archives, gender mythologies, and teacher decision-making. Drawing on womanist diasporic pedagogy and the critique of masculinity myths, the papers collectively challenge dominant narratives that shape curricula and educational practice. Emphasizing resistance and reparative approaches, the session highlights how educators navigate complex gender identity content while honoring marginalized voices and histories. Together, these perspectives offer transformative frameworks for reimagining curriculum and classroom practice that center equity, truth, and student empowerment.
