Thu, April 9, 6:15 to 7:15pm PDT (6:15 to 7:15pm PDT), InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown, Floor: 5th Floor, Echo Park

Session Type: Business Meeting

Abstract

Come to the Large-Scale Assessment SIG’s business meeting to connect with colleagues dedicated to advancing education research, policy, and practice using large-scale survey and assessment data! Our supportive community welcomes both emerging and established scholars who are curious about—or actively engaged in—large-scale data analysis.

The meeting will include updates on SIG activities, highlights of upcoming opportunities, and a featured panel discussion, Getting Started with Large-Scale Assessment Data: Pathways for Emerging Researchers. Panelists Drs. Eugenio González, Qiwei He, and Marisol J. Kevelson will share insights drawn from national and international assessment programs, methodological research, and policy-focused work. The discussion will offer practical guidance on navigating large-scale datasets, developing analytical skills, making sound methodological decisions, and translating findings into equity-minded, policy-relevant insights.

Whether you are new to the field or a long-time member, this session provides a welcoming space to exchange ideas, build connections, and advance research using large-scale data.
