Session Type: Paper Session
This session examines how coloniality, whiteness, and racial politics shape education policy and practice across global and U.S. contexts. Papers trace nationalist and colonial logics in India’s education policy, reveal decolonial storytelling approaches in Senegal, and analyze U.S. struggles from racial justice curricula to Black educators’ resistance and Georgia’s obstruction of federal reforms. They highlight the persistence of oppression and possibilities for resistance.
