Session Type: Roundtable Session
This roundtable brings together critical discourse and policy analyses to examine how narratives shape education across diverse contexts. Papers analyze limited community voice in Providence’s state takeover, racialized narratives of school closures in Jackson, and discursive framings of higher education’s public mission. Studies also interrogate patriotic excellence in China’s elite programs and U.S. culture war rhetoric.
