Session Type: Roundtable Session
This session brings together an international group of scholars interested in examining how teachers’ assessment literacy develops across teacher preparation and practice. The presenters' papers explore preservice and in-service teachers’ assessment literacy development, examine how teachers respond to assessment challenges in their classrooms, and propose a conceptual model for assessment in online and open learning environments. The presenters' findings address how teachers' assessment literacy develops, with an emphasis upon the persistent challenges of equity, coherence, and contextual relevance. Taken together, the papers provide findings surrounding how teachers and scholars can build the capacity to design, interpret, and enact assessment that meaningfully supports student learning.
