Session Type: Paper Session
Drawing on the Akan concept of Sankofa, “go back and fetch it”, this invited Division K VP Symposium brings together past and present VPs for a conversation and reflection on this year’s Division K focus: “Honoring Educational Roots, Cultivating Teaching Futures: Reimagining Teacher Education for Collective Liberation”. Panelists will engage in collective remembering of what we have (un)learned in teaching and teacher education and interrogate tensions between dominant narratives and marginalized knowledges of historically excluded communities. The session positions unforgetting as radical resistance, calls for freedom dreaming, and urges this community to reimagine teaching and teacher education for collective liberation.
