Session Type: Invited Speaker Session
Building meaningful partnerships with K-12 schools as graduate students or early-career researchers can feel like a daunting task. This session will offer a generative conversation around how to engage with schools, teachers, and youth in a way that emphasizes shared vision, intentional research design, and relationship building for the purpose of facilitating collective impact and mutually-desired outcomes. Panelists in this session join us from a variety of perspectives and experiences, providing expertise on navigating the initial stages of partnership development, working toward authentic community engagement and participation, and practical ways to sustain relationships over time, distance, and career stages. We aim to provide attendees with real-life examples that inspire and guide intentional, ethical partnerships for dissertation work and beyond.
